Frequently Asked Questions
1. What time is drop off and pickup?
Drop off on Monday is between 8:00 am and 8:30 am ~ usually the process takes a little longer on Monday because we have to verify paperwork, introduce staff, campers and parents.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday ~ we ask that all campers be dropped off by 8:15 am and ready for activities at 8:30 am. If it is more convenient for parents, they can drop their campers off at Cedar Ridge on Wednesday…the time is the same.
Friday the campers will be here in the morning, we are having an overnight camp on Thursday this year. If a camper does not wish to stay overnight, they should be dropped off by 8:15 am.
Pickup is at 4:00 pm. On Wednesday, we do tend to get back to the resort closer to 4:30 pm. Of course, Thursday there will be no pickup unless campers elect not to stay overnight.
2. What if my child does not want to participate in an activity?
We do not force any child to do something they are not interested in or comfortable with; however, we do try to encourage and challenge campers to step out of their usual comfort zone.
3. What do the campers need to bring with them?
We recommend that each camper brings: backpack, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, sunglasses, a towel, bathing suit or a change of clothes, and water shoes
4. How are medications handled for my camper?
Any medications should be given to the camp counselor/director at the beginning of the day, along with any instructions for administering.
5. Can parents participate in camp?
At this time, we do not offer a camp for families. We do encourage parents to attend the Friday afternoon program.
6. Do I provide lunch, drinks and snacks for my child?
Whitetail provides all snacks, lunches and drinks for the campers. We do send out a menu with the campers paperwork packet. If your child will not eat the lunch that is provided on a certain day, they are more than welcome to pack a lunch.
We provide water and Gatorade to drink. We do not give the campers soda, juice or kool-aid type drinks. We do not encourage these drinks to be sent with your camper.
We provide snacks such as: apples, grapes, bananas, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc. We try to provide snacks high in protein and low in fat and sugar.
7. How do I reach the resort if my child will not be at camp on a given day?
We ask that you call our main phone number and leave a message if it before 8:00 am. Our phone number is: (717) 328-9400. Please leave your name, camper’s name, phone number and reason child will not attend.
